Riya Bansal

Riya Bansal has completed an M.Sc. in Forensic Sciences from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, and a B.Sc. in Life Sciences from the University of Delhi. She is currently working as a junior fingerprint expert with RealScan Biometrics. She has completed projects in forensic DNA phenotyping, estimation of age using miRNA, aging of fingermarks, and extraction of GHB from hair samples. She is a member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences. She has worked in various labs, such as Oncologica UK (COVID-19) and Metropolis Lab, as a laboratory scientist and has vast exposure to laboratory procedures and protocols. She has also completed a 3-month course in cyber forensics, cybersecurity, and cybercrime from International Forensic Sciences, Pune. She has undertaken several other projects that have helped her furnish and develop her skill set and knowledge. In addition to her experience, she has a solid foundational education and a passion for work, which contribute to her holistic growth. Currently, she is undertaking a 6-month training program at the Sherlock Institute of Forensic Sciences.
