Overview

A Police Clearance Certificate or Judicial Record Card is issued by the Department of Justice, Vietnam. Judicial record information on previous criminal convictions, which means information about an individual who has been convicted, his or her crime and applicable articles and clauses of law, principal and additional penalties, civil obligations in the criminal judgment, and court fees.

A Judicial Record Card is a certificate issued by the Provincial Justice Department that may hold information about you in relation to criminal convictions while residing in Vietnam. In Vietnam, criminal record information is maintained at the Provincial Justice Department. PCC certifies that you have never taken part in any criminal activity that led to the involvement of the Vietnam Police Force. 

It is also required when you apply for immigration, study, or work purposes in other countries. While applying for a police clearance certificate from Vietnam, you are required to state the period of your stay in Vietnam, provide documentary proof of stay, the first entry and last exit date stamp, along with all pages of the visa (color copy). It is issued to anyone who spends more than six months in Vietnam.

How to Get a Police Clearance Certificate from Vietnam?

You will have to write a letter to the Vietnam High Commission Embassy stating that you require a PCC and that you are authorizing our organization to collect it on your behalf. These clearances are sometimes referred to as “Certificate of Good conduct” or “Judicial Record Card”. 

You must apply with a completed prescribed application form (personal particulars) provided by our organization for a police clearance certificate. You should send a written disclosure request to the Vietnam Embassy in the country where you are currently residing. 

You should also furnish your full name, date with place of birth, and place with the time period of all residences in Vietnam, including full addresses. We will contact you once we have received the certificate from the Vietnam Embassy. The certificate will be posted to the address indicated by you in the application. The Department of Justice in Vietnam takes 2 weeks to process the application if no criminal record is found. The police clearance certificate should also be authenticated by the Vietnam Embassy.

Application Process for Vietnamese Police Clearance Certificate

To obtain a police clearance certificate from Vietnam, follow these steps:

• A full set of fingerprint impressions with our official stamp.
• Three recent passport-size photographs with white background and without spectacles and cap.
• A copy of the passport and the residence permit issued by the General Directorate of Nationality, in the Kingdom of Vietnam.

• Copies of the first three data pages of your passport, as well as the pages containing Vietnam visas, along with entry and departure stamps.
• A copy of your new passport if applicable.
