Overview

The Police clearance certificate or Criminal (Investigation) Records Check Reply confirms whether you have a criminal record or not. Police Clearance Certificate is a document that is issued by the Criminal Investigation Record Checks, Korean National Police Agency, KOREA, certifying that the applicant has never partaken in any criminal activity that led to the involvement of the South Korean National Police, and is also required when a person applies for an immigration status to other countries. In Korea, the criminal record information is maintained at the Criminal Investigation Record Check, KNPA. The person applying for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) are required to state the period of stay in Korea. Documentary proof of stay is to be provided. First Entry and Last Exit date STAMP is also required. All pages of VISA (Colour Copy).

It is issued to any individual who resides for more than 6 months in South Korea.


Procedure of Getting Police Clearance Certificate from South Korea

You should specifically request a search on your entire record, including Criminal Records (including lapsed criminal sentences) and investigation records. You need to provide a filled completed application form for a Police Clearance Certificate. You must fill the prescribed Consent form so that authorized agency can apply for the Police Certificate on your behalf. You should complete with a Prescribed Consent form. The completed application form can be submitted at the Criminal Investigation Office, KNPA. Full set of fingerprints of both the hands obtained from the applicant’s at authorized agency lab on prescribed fingerprint form, certified by the official stamp of authorized agency. The completed application form with other supporting documents are directly forwarded to (Criminal Records Centre), in Korea. The KNPA (Criminal Records Centre) takes around 3 to 4 weeks under regular service, to process the application if no criminal record found and after that, they send the certified criminal record check (hard copy) via regular mail. In case you need it urgently, the (KNPA) can send it to authorized agency and then we forward it to you, via courier, at an additional cost.


Documents Required for South Korea Police Clearance Certificate

  • The fully completed application form or letter containing the information of the applicant
  • Full set of fingerprints of both the hands obtained from the applicant’s at authorized agency Lab
  • Colored copies of the first and last South Korean visas showing dates of arrival
  • A certified copy of Korean A national identification card or registration card
  • Self-attested coloured photocopies of your passports
  • Two recent passport size photographs with the background
  • Completed Application Form (Personal Particular)
  • A detailed covering letter stating the period of stay in South Korea and the need for the said certificate


 Processing Time for South Korea Police Clearance

The issuing authority will give the original certificate within 3 to 4 weeks under regular service at the mentioned address, the processing time will increases if a person was ever charged by the police.
