Police Clearance Certificate is a document that is issued by the Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior in Latvia, certifying that the applicant has never partaken in any criminal activity that led to the involvement of the Latvian National Police Authorities, and is also required when a person applies for an immigration status to other countries. In Latvia, the criminal record information is maintained at the Ministry of the Interior. Person applying for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) are required to state the period of stay in Latvia. Documentary proof of stay is to be provided. First Entry and Last Exit date STAMP is also required. All pages of VISA (Colour Copy). It is issued to any individual who reside more than 6 months in Latvia.

Procedure of Getting Clearance Certificate from Latvia

You need to provide a filled completed application form for a Police Clearance Certificate. You must authorize authorized agency to apply for the Police Certificate on your behalf. You should complete an authorization form. The completed form can be submitted at the Information Centre of the Ministry of Interior. Full set of fingerprints of both the hands obtained from the applicant’s at authorized agency lab on prescribed fingerprint form, certified by our official stamp of the agency. The completed application form with other supporting documents are directly forwarded to Ministry of the Interior (Criminal Records Information Centre), in Latvia. The Ministry of the Interior (Criminal Records Information Centre) takes around 15 to 20 working days under regular service, to process the application if no criminal record found and after that they send the certified criminal record check(PCC). As soon as the agency receives your PCC or any related information, they will forward it to you, via courier, within a short interval of time.

• The completed application form or letter containing the information of applicant
• Full set of fingerprints of both the hands obtained from the applicant’s at authorized agency Lab
• Copies of the first and last Latvian visas showing dates of arrival
• Self-attested coloured photocopies of your passports
• Two recent passport size photographs
• Completed Application Form (Personal Particular)
• A detailed covering letter stating the period of stay in Latvia and need for the said certificate 

Processing Time for Latvia Police Clearance

The issuing authority will give the original certificate within 15 working days under regular service at the mentioned address.  The processing time will increases if a person was ever charged by the police.
