Overview

Police Clearance A certificate is an official document that is issued by the police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. You will have to write a letter to the Indonesian embassy stating that you require a PCC and that you are authorizing our organization to collect it on your behalf. These clearances are sometimes referred to as “Certificate of Good Conduct” or “Certificates of No-Criminal Activity”, while Indonesian Police referred to as “Surat Keterangan Catatan Kepolisian (Police Record)” and are usually valid for an average of 6 (six) months. These certificates must be valid at the time of issuance of the visa or another immigration permits. The Indonesian National Police Headquarters at MABES POLRI only, certifying that the applicant has never partaken in any criminal activity that led to the involvement of the Indonesian Police authorities, and is also required when a person applies for an immigration status to other countries.

Person applying for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) are required to state the period of stay in Indonesia. Documentary proof of stay is to be provided. First Entry and Last Exit date STAMP is also required. All pages of VISA (Colour Copy).

Applicants that have lived in Indonesia for more than 6 months at any time should obtain a Police Clearance Certificate.


Procedure of Getting Police Clearance Certificate from Indonesia

You should send a written disclosure request to the Indonesian Embassy in the country where you are currently residing. The applicant should furnish his or her full name, date, and place of birth, place, and period of all residences in Indonesia, including full addresses. Applicant must apply with the Completed Application Form (Personal Particular) provided at authorized agency lab for Police Clearance Certificate. The Indonesian police will not issue the certificates to applicants not in possession of KIMS/KITAS or SKLD. The police authorities would require an attestation letter from the embassy that attests you have been lived in Indonesia; such period as claimed. The Indonesian National Police Headquarters takes 2 weeks to process the application if no criminal record found. The certificate will be posted to the forwarding address as indicated by the applicants in the application.


Documents Required for Indonesia Police Clearance Certificate

  • A letter explaining the purpose for which the police clearance certificate is required
  • Fully completed application form (Personal Particular)
  • A valid document showing your work permit
  • Four recent colour photographs with red background (40cm x 60cm)
  • Copy of KTP (Indonesian Identification Card)
  • Copy of Limited Stay Permit (so-called KITAS)
  • A copy of your passport, driving license, or similar for identification purposes
  • A set of applicant’s fingerprint impressions (ten prints). The applicant must submit a set of his/her fingerprint impressions duly attested by authorized agency
  • A detailed covering letter stating the period of stay in Indonesia and the need for the said certificate
  •  Copy of all passport pages (old and current passport), with copies of the first three of the data pages of his/her passport as well as the pages containing Indonesian visas, entry, and departure stamps


Processing Time for Indonesia Police Clearance

The issuing authority will give the original Police Clearance Certificate within 10 to 15 working days. (The processing time will increases if a person was ever charged by the police).

Check-list of Documents for Police Certificate from Indonesia

The Indonesian National Police (Polri) issues the police clearance certificate, which is often necessary for immigration purposes, including filing for a visa or residency permit. While you can apply for a police clearance certificate at the local police station, there are some special criteria and procedures, such as an application form, passport-size photographs, and a copy of your passport.

Applicants must obtain a Surat Keterangan Catatan Kepolisian (SKCK) from the local police authorities. Indonesian residents should provide their identity card, family card, birth certificate, and a letter from their community and sub-district head.
